Tim Hawkinson has been the subject of numerous solo exhibitions, including “Tim Hawkinson” at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, NY, and “Tim Hawkinson: Mapping the Marvelous” at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney, Australia. After the iteration in New York came to a close, the former traveled to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in California. The artist has also been included in important group exhibitions at, amongst other venues, the Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art, Paris, FR; Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, CA; National Art Museum of China, Beijing; and National Museum of Art, Osaka, JP. His works of art were, additionally, included in the 48th Venice Biennale and 2002 Whitney Biennial, and have been acquired by many institutions, including the Honolulu Museum of Art, HI; Indianapolis Museum of Art, IN; J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles, CA; Los Angeles County Museum of Art, CA; Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, CA; Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington, D.C.; and Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY.
